Summary:

In “Managing Bleeding Disorders with Useful Tools,” attendees participated in several roundtable presentations geared towards different topics to provide comprehensive resources on several facets of living with a bleeding disorder. Topics covered in the session included genetic counseling, physical therapy, infusion/injection training, the Bleeding Disorders Substance Use and Mental Health Coalition (BDSUMHAC), and women’s health. As participants moved from one table to the next, professionals at each gave an overview of their area of expertise, answered questions, and provided print-out resources; at many tables, there were pieces of equipment or medical tools, brochures and informational pamphlets, or other tactile items to explore.

Response: Red Ink

  • Attending this session underscored the complex, multi-faceted needs of women with bleeding disorders.
  • Through Red Ink, I hope to help redefine women’s health and reproductive health as integral parts of how we experience bleeding disorders, working to destigmatize women-specific issues.
